Park at the north end of Silver Strand Bikeway. The bridge frames San Diego's skyline exactly. Most people drive across it without stopping. You're getting out, standing on the path, watching the afternoon light hit the bay. That's the point.

Start at the Hotel del Coronado and walk the beach south toward the ferry landing. The curve of sand gets emptier the further you go. By the concrete pier you'll understand why locals don't talk about this place much. Keep it that way.
