Ocean Beach | Dog Beach
Go early before the crowds arrive. Dogs run off-leash into the water, locals throw balls into the waves, and nobody yells at anyone. The south end of the beach by the cliffs is where you actually want to be. Leave your dog home if you don't have one.

5.0★Coffee · Local favorite
Get the cold-brew kombucha and a single-origin pour-over. TapShack is two blocks from the cliffs but feels like a secret locals found first. The counter staff actually know the roaster. Sit on the bench outside if the sun clears the buildings.
Ocean Beach Tide Pools
4.8★Walk · Local favorite
Go at low tide, not when Instagram tells you to. The north pools have purple urchins and small fish that pocket hunters miss. Wear shoes that grip wet rock. The crowds thin out past the first cove.
Sunset Cliffs Coastal Trail (Linear Park)
4.8★Walk · Local favorite
Start at the north lot. Walk south along the cliff path toward the Point Loma lighthouse. The erosion here is real. By sunset the water goes copper and the surfers below turn into silhouettes. Go in jeans. The wind won't ask permission.
