Windansea Park
Walk down to the cove at sunrise or dusk. The stairs catch the light before anywhere else on the coast. Locals call it Windansea for the waves, but stay for the tide pools and the stone arch that frames the water. The tourists are mostly gone by 6.

4.9★Lunch · Local favorite
Order the carne asada burrito and eat it standing at the counter. El Pueblo is what happens when you stop looking for the Instagram spot and find the place locals actually eat. Pearl Street foot traffic is half tourists walking past, half people who know.
Lifeguard La Jolla Cove
4.8★Walk · Heavy hitter
Get there before 9 AM when the cove is still yours. The water is clearest in summer. Seals hang in the shallows. Skip midday crowds entirely. The cove is the same at 3 PM with half the bodies in the sand.
La Jolla Cove
4.8★Walk · Heavy hitter
Arrive at 7:30 when the cove is still quiet and the water is flat glass. The cliffs frame the beach like someone already framed it for you. By 9 the tour groups start. Swim or just watch the seals. Both work.
